Why I Aligned with Beautycounter
Updated: Aug 4, 2019
Hello friends, Almost 1 year ago, I decided to jump in and link arms with Beautycounter – a safer skin care company who is on a mission to disrupt the personal care industry. This decision has proven to be a big step forward with my business and personal growth journey, and I am just so gosh-darn excited to be sharing the mission, education and products with you. Read more about Beautycounter HERE.
I have been using natural and safer skin care and personal care products for the past 4 years as part of my acne healing journey and protocol. (Click HERE to read more about my skin journey.) Sharing and educating about safer personal care products has been a passion project of mine so the time seemed right to add this component to my business toolkit. Read on to learn more about WHY I decided to lend my voice to this important mission.
This time, it's personal.
No. 1: Acne and other skin issues SUCKS.
I’ve been struggling with my skin (and self-confidence) for 4+ years now. I’ve learned a lot along the way and I feel it is my responsibility to start sharing my knowledge. I want to be the resource that I needed to find 4+ years ago. You can read more about my acne journey HERE. Adding Beautycounter to my toolkit will allow me to offer a more well-rounded solution for my clients and fellow acne sufferers.
No. 2: The endocrine disrupting ingredients in conventional personal care products are a BIG DEAL.
My family history is riddled with breast & uterine cancer, uterine fibroids, endometriosis, miscarriages and infertility. I struggle with painful periods and irregular cycles – I am concerned about the state of my reproductive health. I want better for myself and the women I love. We all deserve better.
No. 3: Beautycounter's mission is to get safer products in the hands of everyone.
Now, there's a mission I can stand behind! Beautycounter works to achieve their mission in three ways: educating about how to choose safer personal care products; providing safer, high performing products; and advocating for more laws and regulations surrounding the personal care industry.
Can I just say, from 2+ years working in the health and wellness retail space, I have NEVER come across another brand that is doing the advocacy work that Beautycounter is doing.
No. 4: Beautycounter provides the opportunity for me to find financial equality.
Currently, Derek brings home 70% of our household income. It irritates me. We have a big dream of owning a house (with land) and in Vancouver, that requires a small fortune. With this opportunity, I am better able to contribute to make that dream a reality.
There ya go. I little inside peek as to WHY I decided to link arms with Beautycounter and lend my voice to this amazing mission. We all deserve to be using personal care products that are safe and free of toxic, endocrine disrupting ingredients. Again, check out this page to learn more about Beautycounter.
